OHS Historic House Tour
Take a stroll through beautiful Orient and enjoy a pleasant excursion back in time! The engaging backstories of a select group of historic houses, as well as the current homeowners’ conscientious preservation, captures and honors the vital history behind these noteworthy residences.

Town of Southold Historic Preservation Commission Presentation & Discussion (Free & open to the public.)
@ Poquatuck Hall (1160 Skippers Lane, Orient)
Ted Webb will present a history of the Orient Historic District. A commissioner will speak about the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation and how those standards guide decision making. Additionally, another commissioner will share her expertise regarding Historic Preservation on the national level. The presentation will close with a review of some of the resources that are published on the Historic Preservation Commission website.

Historic House Tour
The tour, including interiors of the houses, is self-guided; a map and a detailed hand-out filled with pertinent info will be provided. In addition, there will be helpful docents at each house on the tour.
Note that the tour ends at 2:30pm.
