DESCRIPTION:Aug. 2nd. The OHS Summer Gala & Auction returns to one of the East End’s most beautiful settings—Poquatuck Park\, overlooking Orient Harbor at sunset. \n  \nAs of Friday\, August 1st @ 4pm tickets are no longer available online. \nIf you’d like to attend\, you must purchase ticket(s) in person\, at the event. \n  \nThere’ll be an exciting live auction of exceptional pieces of art plus a silent auction of art by favorite local artists and a specially-curated selection of unique experiences\, but note that you must buy a ticket and attend to participate! \n  \nProceeds from the Summer Benefit & Auction are a critical component of OHS’s annual operating budget. Your generous support helps OHS fulfill its mission of bringing people together to share and celebrate the unique history and culture of Orient and East Marion. Thank you!

SUMMARY:3rd NY Regiment Revolutionary War Re-enactment
DESCRIPTION:August 23rd. The 3rd NY Regiment recreates events that happened during the War of American Independence\, specifically 1775 through 1783. The Regiment reproduces the daily routine of Revolutionary War soldiers\, wives\, families and camp followers. They dress in period clothing and drill with reproduction firelocks just as in 1775. \n  \nActivities will include: \n\nMeet & Greet the Public\nCamp Activities\nDrill\n18th Century Cooking\nCanon Demonstration\nTactical Weapons Demonstration\nPeople of the 18th Century\nNooning\nCamp Breakdown\n\n\nEvent Parking will be available at the Methodist Church (1395 Village Ln – enter on Orchard St).
