SUMMARY:5th Annual NY Mutuals vs Oysterponders Vintage Baseball Game
DESCRIPTION:Sept. 6th.  Root\, root\, root for the home team! For the fifth year in a row\, OHS will be hosting a vintage baseball game featuring a friendly-but-fierce competition between the powerful visiting NY Mutuals and a proud-but-ragtag team of Oysterponds irregulars. \n  \nThe New York Mutuals Baseball Club fields a team in authentic replica uniforms and plays an actual nine-inning game–following bygone-era rules–using replica old-time equipment. Following the game\, they’ll give the children in the audience a chance to play and swing a bat in a game called rounders. \n  \nInterested in playing? Click here to sign up!

DESCRIPTION:Exhibitions in Village House will remain open on Saturdays and Sundays until Otober 26th. \nSaturdays: 2-5pm \nSundays: 2-5pm \n  \nPictured: Two portraits that are part of the “Recent Acquisitions” exhibition in Village House. The sisters portrayed are Elizabeth Brown Dyer Tuthill (1815-1870) and Laura Lavinia Dyer Holmes (1802-1883). They were painted in 1842 by W.G. Brown\, Jr.\, a young English artist\, shortly after he arrived in New York. \n  \nPlease note that staff may be available Monday thru Thursday to open the doors and give tours. If interested\, please call the office at 631-323-2480 for more information. \n  \nAdmission for non-Member Adults is $10\, which grants same-day access to all buildings. For OHS Members & Children\, admission to our buildings and exhibitions is free.

DESCRIPTION:Sept. 27th & 28th.  To fully acknowledge and celebrate all that artists contribute to our community\, for the fourth year in a row we are inviting local artists who have supported OHS to participate in an upcoming art show and sale at Oysterponds Historical Society\, North Fork Art & Artists Exhibition & Sale. \nThe East Marion and Orient communitieshave long been home to artists who have been inspired\, rejuvenated\, and motivated by the North Fork’s sky\, farmland\, and bays. \nThe exhibition will be held at the Old Point Schoolhouse (1555 Village Lane\, Orient) and 75% of the purchase price will go to the artist and 25% will represent a contribution to OHS. \nLooking forward to seeing you at the Schoolhouse! \n  \nSaturday\, September 27th\, 11am to 5pm \nSunday\, September 28th\, 11am to 5pm.
