OHS Annual Meeting – Saturday, November 19th @ 10:30 am

 

 

As a valued member of the OHS community, we look forward to welcoming you to the OHS Annual Meeting, which is being held via Zoom. Your involvement and generous support make it possible for OHS to bring the community together to share experiences and celebrate the history and culture of this special place.

 

Members in good standing should have received an email recently containing the Zoom link for the meeting. If you have not, please call the OHS office (631-323-2480, press “2”) and we’ll be sure to share that information with you.

 

Current members may vote for the 2022 Trustee Nominee slate below during the meeting or you may email your proxy vote for or against the slate before Thursday, November 17th to office@oshny.org.

 

 

 

2022 Trustee Nominees

 

 

1st Term:

 

 

Andrea Meislin is a trained art historian with a specialty in late 19th-century paintings and photography. She has worked as a curator, gallery owner, and is currently an art consultant guiding individuals and corporations. Through her “work friends” on our board, she discovered Orient, and after renting for several years, found her dream house in the village in 2020.

 

 

 

Tina Silvestri is an operations executive at NBCUniversal, where she has worked for 26 years, managing NBC’s 30 Rock facility and overseeing studio operations for shows ranging from Nightly News to Saturday Night Live. She and her husband Dave Pugh have owned a home in Orient By The Sea since 2011. They have enthusiastically attended OHS events for many years.

 

 

 

Jennifer Valentino has a BFA in Urban Design and Land Use Planning from New York University. She has worked with non-profits in the education, public advocacy and community preservation sectors, leading diverse programmatic, public relations and fundraising efforts. Subsequently, she guided clients through high-end renovation and construction projects as a Homeowner’s Project Manager. Currently, she helps run a private equity holding company that invests in residential real estate. She and her husband, Carl, have had a home in Orient Point since 1999.

 

 

Honorary Board Member (in recognition of long and meritorious service to OHS):

 

 

John Holzapfel is a retired teacher who taught science at the high school and junior college level with degrees in chemistry and marine science. He has been a Southold Town Trustee and is a founder of Oysterponds Shellfish Company and a frequent lecturer on nature, the environment and local history. He is a Past President of OHS and has acted as OHS’s Interim Executive Director on three separate occasions, as well as serving on various committees with a particular focus on buildings and grounds and our collections. John has been omnipresent at OHS for as long as he has been in the community. He and his wife Joyce live on Village Lane.
