The Janet T. Swanson Exhibition Gallery
The Janet T. Swanson Exhibition Gallery is temporarily closed.
Every summer the Janet T. Swanson Exhibition Gallery in the Old Point Schoolhouse is Oysterponds Historical Society’s venue for a brand-new, in-depth exhibition culled from its voluminous collection, as well as one-off, special-interest exhibitions.

The gallery is named in honor of former OHS Board Member Janet T. Swanson (1935-2000), who taught psychiatric and
mental health nursing at NYU, was a lobbyist for the New York State Nurses’ Association, and a Founding President of the
North Fork Women for Women Fund. We are forever grateful for her invaluable involvement in and generous support of OHS.
