East Marion Stories Project

A Joint Effort of the East Marion Community Association & the Oysterponds Historical Society.

Stories of East Marion Residents Past and Present

The goal of this community project is to engage residents of East Marion and—with their help—record audio interviews to document the history of the hamlet, including current and past residents and families, occupations, events, and artifacts before these invaluable memories fade and are lost forever.

Using StoryCorps Connect we will be able record interviews remotely with anyone who has an internet connected device so that no face-to-face contact will be required.  The interviews will be housed in the StoryCorps Archive , at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., one of the largest digital collections of human voices, comprised of recorded conversations and interviews from across the U.S. and around the world.
